Paje: Zanzibar Kite Paradise - Kitesurf Center

GENERAL INFORMATION

Beautiful island with tourquoises flat water. The wind does NOT blow every day so I would not chose it if you just want to kite. But it’s a  great kitesurfing spot if you want to travel and practice  kitesurfing. Bring big kites. If you are thinking of working there as kitesurfing instructor I think is a good option for couples of months but the wind is not really realiable so do not expect to save a lot of money. Live is cheap, rent or buy a motorbike and enjoy the island. There are severals schools around the east part of the island, for me the best spot for kiting and teaching is Paje. It’s a good spot for teaching kitesurfer if you do not have experience.

Bring big kites and if you have foil board take it with you.

There are many kitesurfing schools around the east part of the island. Jambiani and Paje are the best option because the sandy area is bigger. Norther from those spots we will find Matemwe and Pwani Mchangani where there are kiteschools as well but I worked there and with hight tide the beach is narrow and you have to be really careful with the palm trees, and with spring tides the beach at low tide does not have enought water for kiting.
